Things I Would Miss as A Ghost
This is a gratitude list. It requires me to not only look at what I am grateful for, but also what my concept of a ghost is and how it could exist in the world which also makes it a creative prompt.
If you want to make a “things I would miss as a ghost list” here is what you need to do:
believe on some level, ghosts are real and possible
believe that you could become a ghost
consider the parameters and limitations that living as a ghost would have
look at the things you love/admire/have gratitude towards that you may not notice or be directly aware of in a simply human existence
write them down, make a list of all the things that make the human experience pleasurable or even just memorable
MY LIST
coffee
being held for a long time
the taste of my favourite meals
the texture of cashmere
the smell of incense
picking up books in the used book store, flipping through their pages
touching flower petals
kissing
washing my hair, feeling the lather
chewing gum; blowing bubbles
changing a record
putting on lingerie, dancing around
bubble baths
giving dogs a good pat
watering the plants
earth under my feet
texting my friends an angel number
getting a tattoo
writing with a pen on paper, specifically a poem
swimming in a lake
running through the woods
going to the market for fresh produce
long road trips
lunches with my grandparents
going through old printed photos
getting dressed
strutting down the street in cowgirl boots, hearing the sound of them
geeling the sun on my face
the first inhale from a joint
running into the ocean holding my friends hands
sticking my feet under a leg on the couch
asking “what colour are you today?”
baking for people I love
writing lettets
breaking the yolk on a runny egg
getting into a bed with fresh sheets
folding warm towels
a cat sleeping on my lap
lighting a candle
standing on a stage sharing my words
really good wine
a glass of good, fresh, filtered water
oil pastels on good quality paper
finger painting
putting on glitter eyeshadow
collaging
hands kneading dough
buttering toast
moisturizing after a long shower
summer rain on bare skin
skinny dipping
eating a perfect grape
buttery popcorn shared at the movies
swamp water through a plastic straw - different every time
